To bring materials, plant and people into the Maldives and on to the island where the work actually is, with the permits cleared, the labour in place and the landed cost controlled.
Ali Mufeed ran the Maldives office of Hojgaard & Schultz, the Danish contractor, as Operations Executive. He held that post through the Fuvahmulah Harbour Project and the Addu Link Road, the first tarmac road ever laid in the country.
In 5 January 2003 he and his co-directors formed Triways Maldives Pvt Ltd under licence C-05/2003 to take that experience into their own contracts. Triways Investments, registered SP18972022, carries the work forward today.

Dredged and the beach replenished in 36 days against a 45-day programme. A sea rock measuring 50 by 30 feet, sitting in six metres of water across the channel, was removed with explosives under special permission from government ministries.
64 villas
Ten deluxe villas with private pools, 28 Jacuzzi villas and 26 standard villas, each with boundary walls, sundecks and privacy fences. Phase I finished ahead of programme, which is why the client opened Phase II immediately.
6 months
The entire island built out from 25 September 2006 to 30 March 2007: guest villas and pools, arrival jetty and ramp, kitchen, stores, power house, RO plant, mosque, spa, diving school and staff accommodation.
20 villas
Twenty existing water villas demolished and all debris cleared using excavators, barge and dump trucks, as part of the island's redevelopment.
Wakachiku Construction of Japan built the regional ports at Hithadhoo and Kulhudhuffushi for the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, with Niras of Denmark as consultant. On both, Triways was their appointed local agent.

Italian-Thai Development of Thailand appointed Triways as their shipping agency and customs clearance agency in February 2003, for the Hulhumalé Development Unit contract.
On completion of Stage I, the contractor commended Triways for the work carried out.
Both were delivered by Hojgaard & Schultz for the Maldivian government, with Ali Mufeed as Operations Executive in charge of the contractor’s office in the Maldives.

The first tarmac road project in the Maldives, running 13 km from Gan to Hithadhoo, with Ali Mufeed again Operations Executive in charge of the contractor's Maldives office.
That is the job Wakachiku, Italian-Thai Development and Hojgaard & Schultz each hired Triways to do. A local agent who already holds the relationships, knows the paperwork, and is standing on the quay when the vessel arrives.

The harbour at Coco Palm Boduhithi was cut and the beach rebuilt in the same season the water villas came down. 16,000 m³ was dredged and placed in 36 days against a 45-day programme. Single-storey private residence, Dhadimagu, Gn. Fuvahmulah · Private client, March 2006 to August 2007.
A private residence at Dhadimagu, on Fuvahmulah at the far south of the country. Cast-concrete joinery worked to look like timber, a sculpted internal water garden with its own footbridge and waterfall, and hand-painted relief murals through the verandas. It is the one purely decorative job on the record, and it shows the finish the crew can hold when that is what the brief asks for.

Triways Lanka (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated in October 2009 under registration PV 69464 to take a long-standing Maldive fish trade into manufacturing. Its brands, Alibe's Island Fresh and Trimo's, launched in 2017.

A quarry and a barge fleet can reach the Maldives. Landing the cargo, clearing it and crewing the job is a different business, and it is the one we have been in since 2003.
